Howl At The Moon

In days his fear
In nights a nightmare
The fear of losing her
Ever present, always there

Yet did one day
His fears come true
No amount of preparedness
Could make it not too soon

She had to close on him
Open another door
Go to some other
She would be his no more

It was not without pain
Oh him she was a part
Having her wrenched away
Broke his little heart

Though he knew it coming
He didn’t feel any better
His tenacious grip on hope gone
That word of four letters

Filled with anguish
Of her taken away so soon
He snaps his head back to
Howl at the moon
