The Absurdity Of War

She is in distress
Rolling about in tears
What she has witnessed
Was the culmination of fears

Her dear precious family
Bombs and rockets tore apart
Could she have ever imagined
Her little children, from her, part

She cannot hold in sorrow
She has to let it out
Whether she will survive the day
Is a looming doubt

Have they no mercy at all
To spare this family of hers
The idea of a conscience soldier
Is just plain absurd

She has nobody left
All she can do is cry
She awaits death eagerly
Another body among flies
