Destruction Of War

The town is destroyed
Roads covered in ash
Every step raises clouds
Like on water, a splash

What once used to be
Great buildings of wonder
Are now reduced to
Rubble cast asunder

Flanked on both sides
By piles of rubble
The destruction of war
Is anything but subtle

Bodies are littered about
Like sand on a beach
For deliverance from this hell
To God, the survivors beseech

Homes are destroyed
Families torn apart
They have nowhere to go
Their belongings, in a little cart

Is this war is for
Snuff out all of life
Let us end this before
Earth the humans knife
